El grupo de investigación está formado por siete profesionales con una trayectoria investigadora común. Todos ellos realizan labores de investigación, además de docencia y consultoría, en la Escuela Andaluza de Salud Pública. Este grupo viene desarrollando desde hace años una trayectoria conjunta centrada en la investigación de las relaciones entre el género y otros determinantes sociales (clase social, etnia y país de origen, edad) con la salud y la atención sanitaria. El equipo posee una amplia experiencia de trabajo en temas de género, ciencias sociales y de la salud y en metodología de investigación en estas áreas, y acumula una extensa trayectoria investigadora, docente y de consultoría en Salud Pública y Servicios de Salud, cuyo impacto sobre el sistema sanitario ha sido importante, no sólo a nivel autonómico, sino también nacional e internacional. Nuestro interés por influir de manera muy directa en la práctica profesional ha motivado que la difusión de los resultados de investigación se haya realizado, no sólo a través de publicaciones científicas en revistas de impacto, sino también de la producción de guías, libros y capítulos de libros y, de forma muy relevante, mediante la incorporación a nuestra labor docente y consultora de los resultados de años de investigación. Diversas investigadoras del equipo han formado parte de la Red de Investigación en Salud y Género (RISG) y de la Red de Centros de Investigación en Epidemiología y Salud Pública (RECPS) financiadas por el Instituto Carlos III, y actualmente forman parte del CIBER de Epidemiología y Salud Pública (CIBERESP) de la misma institución. Actualmente, varios miembros pertenecen al CIBERESP, y todos forman parte del Grupo PAIDI sobre Investigación en Salud Pública y Servicios Sanitarios.
