El Grupo A-09 del Instituto de Investigación Biosanitaria de Granada, está centrado en oncología molecular, en el estudio de las bases moleculares y perfiles de expresión génica en cáncer. En nuestro grupo pretendemos el estudio genético de los tumores, en concreto estamos centrados en cáncer de pulmón. La comprensión de las características genéticas y de la biología del tumor es importante porque puede permitir encontrar genes alterados y proteínas alteradas en tipos tumorales específicos que puedan ser utilizados como biomarcadores y dianas para el desarrollo de nuevas terapias del que se puedan beneficiar los pacientes de cáncer de pulmón. Por otro lado, el grupo de investigación está también enfocado hacia el estudio de nuevos compuestos farmacológicos con actividad antitumoral dirigidos frente a nuevas dianas terapéuticas.
